This was a commission by New Perspectives Theatre Company, with Northants Touring Arts. My role was to spend time in an area of East Northamptonshire that neither organization knew much about. I investigated this area, including Deensthorpe in the south and Kings Cliffe in the north, as a travelling artist. The Red Kites that had been re-introduced into the area, and the way in which they surveyed the ground inspired me. I undertook my own journey and created a written and sketched record of my observations. The resulting artwork was distributed and shared. It was launched in one of the many wonderful, old village halls that are to be found in these villages. The map took the form of a strip map, inspired by the maps of John Ogilby.
