This series of work followed on from the Fields of Emotion series, and was directly influenced by the Comfort Blanket for Backstitch, and the tokens at the Foundling Museum.  The Comfort Blanket became very much about my immediate family, and I found myself exploring the emotions and needs that come with this responsibility. The Foundling Museum was a hospital where mothers took their children that they weren’t able to care for. Should their circumstances change their were able to reclaim them. They were encouraged to leave a token with the child, often these were scraps of sewing, they are extremely poignant objects. These are the six fields of my family, each field having it’s own name.
